Paper Snowflakes

We ventured out into the cold today just long enough to take a few pictures of touches of Christmas on our back deck.  It feels like winter has truly hit here.

Yesterday was a rainy day and both the girls came down with a bad virus which included high fevers.  On the bright side, there was a lot of cuddling time (smile).  I'm happy to say that both girls seem to be feeling much better today and I thought a little craft might be fun.

The past couple years Jillian and I have made snowflakes and every year I have to search again for the Martha Stewart tutorial... I can't ever seem to remember how to make the folds!  Rosetta got to "help" us a little this year too.  (Note: For any mothers with young ones out there... do you know about the Crayola scissors that only cut paper?  They are wonderful!)

This year when I pulled up the Martha Stewart site, I saw they had created a wreath with the snowflakes.  I loved that idea... we taped our small snowflakes together and hung the wreath on the back door.

A real wreath doesn't work very well back here so this is just perfect.  I find myself smiling every time I walk past and see the light filtering through.  I guess what I love so much about kids' crafts is that it doesn't have to perfect... even the little imperfections are sweet.

With cold days here, it sure makes me thankful for days like today when we can gather together at the table in our warm house and work on a simple craft (smile).

P.S.  The randomly drawn winner of the soap giveaway is #31 LauraC.  Laura, I will be sending you an email and you will receive 1 bar of Peppermint Scrub and 1 bar of Virginia Cedarwood.  Congrats!
Thank you again, Amanda, for the lovely giveaway!
I hope you all have a wonderful week.
